The study on the ‘Quality of the Mediterranean Diet of a Young Population in Southern Portugal,’ conducted under the aegis of Tavira, analysed the nutritional habits of this population. The Municipal Museum of Tavira conducts research and investigation on the ‘heritage of the sea’ and ‘agrarian societies’. Development of specific legislation, following the ratification of the UNESCO Convention, the legal framework for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and creation of a National Inventory. The universities, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Tavira Museum continue to investigate the Mediterranean Diet.
